Seed calibration before the air separator is mandatory

Coincidentally, different farmers simultaneously brought us two batches of seeds ready for sowing. One batch of soybean seeds prepared in an aerodynamic separator, and the second batch of corn seeds, selected by a world brand, prepared at an imported seed plant designed specifically for corn seeds.
Both farmers decided to make sure whether there was a difference between the technologies by which soybean and corn seeds were prepared and the technology that we are introducing.
I have been convinced many times that the seeds of any crop cannot be strictly calibrated by size. the difference in size is visually determined with difficulty, and if, after calibrating the seeds (especially according to the thickness of the achenes), they are sorted into fractions , then everything becomes clear. And so it happened.

We calibrated the soybean into three fractions based on the thickness of the achenes:

Calibration of soybeans on OKMF "Compact 1-2" after the Aerodynamic separator

Raw material

(Soybeans prepared on an Aerodynamic separator)

Passage Sieve 4.5 mm

Passage Sieve 5.0 mm

Discharge from the sieve 5.0 mm

The fraction coming off the 5.0 sieve was divided into “heavy” and “light” on a pneumatic vibration table:

Light Faction

Heavy Faction

Separation by specific gravity of soybean seed on a Fadev Pneumatic Vibration Table (PVSF-3)

Conclusions:

Soybean seeds prepared for sowing on an air separator have a high unevenness of size according to the thickness of the achenes, which is easily proven by comparing the weight of 1000 pieces of achenes:

- passage through a sieve 4.5 weight 1000 pcs - 103 g;

— removal from sieve 5.0, weight 1000 pieces — more than 150 g.

In addition, strict calibration of seeds by thickness allows for strict density separation from each fraction and the selection of STRONG SEEDS.

Compare: 5.0 fraction after pneumatic vibrating table

“heavy” (STRONG SEEDS) weight of 1000 seeds - 168g.

“light” of the same fraction - 149g.

CORN

The batch of corn seeds arrived in beautiful branded bags. The bags were embroidered. The seeds turned out to be not as beautiful as the bags.

Just like soybeans, corn seeds were calibrated into three fractions

— passage 4.5 (Fadeev sieve);

— pass 5.0; (Fadeev’s sieve);

— shift from 5.0.

Each batch contains approximately 1/3 of the total volume.

The smallest fraction was sent to the pneumatic vibration table - a passage of 4.5 mm

Light Faction

Heavy Faction

Separation by specific gravity of corn seed on a Fadeva Pneumatic Vibration Table (PVSF-3)

And even on these small seeds there is a difference between “heavy” and “light”. seeds turned out to be significant: here is the mass of 1000 pieces of corn seeds:

— “heavy” corn seeds — 200g;

- “light” - seeds 166g.

Farmers are convinced that the most reliable technology today is

GENTLE FRACTIONAL TECHNOLOGY FOR ISOLATING STRONG SEEDS FROM SEEDING MATERIAL.

Farmers in eight countries where our seed factories operate have already been convinced of this.
